    Engr. Masum-Al-Beruni,a professional Electrical Engineer was born on 1st October, 1954 in a respectable Muslim family from Jamalpur. He completed his graduation in Electrical Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET) in 1977.
    He started his career as Assistant Engineer in BPDB in the year 1977. He worked as Assistant Engineer, Sub-Divisional Engineer, Executive Engineer in BPDB during the period of 04.11.1977 to 30.08.1999. He worked as senior system analyst in Dhaka Computer Center from 1999 to 2005 and also in M/S Price Waterhouse Coopers Ltd. He worked as Director Design from 2006 to 2007 and as Chief Engineer, Planning and Design. He worked in second leadership position in BPDB, as a member, Planning and Development from 19.12.2010 to 17.08.2011 whose key responsibilities are to guide and monitor the progress of all the big projects of BPDB of different power plant projects like Sylhet, Chandpur, Sikalbaha etc. He worked as member, Distribution as well as member, PBS & Training. He worked almost 34 years in BPDB and 2 years in REB. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB). He attended a wide range of training/workshop program at home and abroad like Technical Training on Power System Analysis with Digital Computer in West Germany in 1981, Technical Training on Power System Planning in Thailand in 1985. He also attended different seminar and workshop in Nepal, Bhutan, England and China. He attended Several Factory Test Witness and Pre Shipment Inspection of goods and materials at home and abroad. He developed different technical software for distribution system like voltage drop calculation, fault analysis, power factor improvement etc.


    Engr. Md. Imdadul Islam

    Description:

    Engr. Md. Imdadul Islam, a renowned Electrical Engineer, was born on 5th June, 1956 in a respective Muslim family of village- Kolghnipara, P.O.- Bahadurpur, Upozilla- Bheramara of Kushtia district. He completed his graduation in Electrical Engineering in 1979 from Rajshahi Engineering College under University of Rajshahi. He started his carrier in Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) in October, 1979 as an Assistant Engineer in Shahajibazar Power Station, Sylhet. He worked in Grid maintenance Division, Ishurdi. Planning & Development Division, Distribution Division, 18-Town Power Distribution Project of BPDB. He joined as a Manager, Telecommunication Division(TCD) & worked as a Manager, Grid Maintenance Division, Bogra. Deputy General Manager, Grid Circle, Chittagong & Project Director, Bibiana-Kaliakoor 400kv Transmission line & Fenchuganj-Bibiaba 230kv Transmission Line Project. He is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Engineers Bangladesh. He joined as General Manager/Chief Engineer, Transmission-1 on 27.08.2012. From September 27, 2015 he is also serving as Executive Director (Operation & Maintenance) in PGCB.


    Mohammad Shafayet Hossain

    Mohammad Shafayet Hossain (ID No: 3396), Joint Secretary to the Govt of Bangladesh was born on 12 December 1960 belong to an honurable Muslim Family from Jhenaidah. He Complited his B.S.S (Honours) and M.S.S in Social welfare from Dhaka University in 1982 and 1983 respectively. He Started his Career in civil Service of Bangladesh as Assistant Commissioner in the Year 1986. He Worked as Ac land,Ac finance, Upazila Magistrate, Upazila Nirbahi officer, Additional Deputy Commissioner in Dhaka & Pabna and Deputy Commissioner in Thakurgaon & Barguna district. He also Worked as Project Director in three Projects from the Ministry of Education. He Worked as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Education & Deputy Secretary and Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Expatriates welfare & overseas Employment. He Joined in DESCO as Executive Director in 2013 & Worked there up to 2015. Then he Joined as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Shipping. He attended a Wide range of in-Service training/ Workshop Program at home & abroad. He also attended different Seminar & Workshop in Singapore, Thailand, Korea.     Description:

    Engr. Farid Uddin Ahmed is son of late Al-Haj Abdul Khaleque and Late Halima Begum. He was born on the 31st December, 1954 in a respectable Muslim family at Manderpur village, Upazila- Kasba under Brahmanbaria district. He completed his graduation in Mechanical Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 1977. He started his carrier as an Assistant Engineer, Mechanical Maintenance Division in Ashugonj 128 MW Power Station, Brahmanbaria in the year 1978 under Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB). He proved himself as a dynamic engineer in Power Sector by holding different positions namely, Subdivisional Engineer in Ashugonj Combined Cycle Power Plant, Executive Engineer Workshop and Turbine in Ashugonj Power Station and Executive Engineer Grid Maintenance Division, Comilla of BPDB till the 14th October 2001. When Power Grid Company of Bangladesh Ltd. (PGCB) was formed, he joined as Manager, Grid Maintenance Division (GMD), Comilla on October 2001. He was posted as Deputy General Manager (DGM), Grid Circle Comilla and Project Director (DGM), Project-2.
    As a Project Director, he successfully completed different projects like, 1. Three Nos. Four Circuit Transmission line viz, (a) 132 kV Turn in Turn out Brahmanbaria Substation (19 km), (b) 132 kV Turn in Turn out Meghnaghat GIS (18 km) & (c) 132 kV Turn in Turn out Meghnaghat GIS (10 km); 2. (a) 132 kV Khulna to Gallamari Double Circuit T/L line & (b) 132 kV Madangonj to Munshigonj Double Circuit line T/L and 3. (a) Construction of five Nos. (1 No GIS + 4 Nos. AIS) of 132/33 kV Substations with capacity of 732 MVA & (b) Extension of three Nos. 230/132 kV Grid Substation with capacity of 600 MVA.
    The ongoing projects under his jurisdiction are construction of (a) one No 230/132 kV GIS sub-station at Agargaon, Dhaka, (b) 2 Nos. 132/33 kV GIS sub-stations at Cantonment, Satmasjid, Dhaka and (c) 230 kV & 132 kV underground cable lines.
    He has been given charge of the upcoming new project, "National Power Transmission Network Development Project". Now he is the Chief Engineer, Project. He is the life member of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh. He attended different training and workshops at home and abroad e.g., UK, India and Nepal on Power Plant Engineering (Operation & Maintenance) and Project Management. He visited a number of countries such as Germany, Sweden, India and China for the purpose of inspection and factory acceptance test of wide range of electrical equipment. He is married and blessed with one daughter and one son.


    Engr. Mahbub Ahmed

    Description:

    Mahbub Ahmed, a professional Mechanical Engineer was born on January, 2, 1958 in a respectable Muslim family at Sylhet, Bangladesh. He completed his graduation in Mechanical Engineering from Engineering College, Chittagong under University of Chittagong in 1981. He started his carrier as Assistant Engineer, GMD,Siddhirganj on Aug 6, 1981 in Bangladesh Power Development Board. He worked as Station in charge (Sub Divisional Engineer) of Hasnabad Grid S/S, Shampur Grid S/S, Maniknagar Grid S/S and Ullon Grid S/S before promoted to the rank of Executive Engineer on Apr 5, 2000.. As Executive Engineer he worked at GMD, Dhaka-East and GMD, Rangpur. Later he joined in Power Grid Company of Bangladesh Ltd on Jan 1, 2003 and worked as Manager, GMD, Rangpur and GMD, Dhaka-South. In Nov 19, 2008 he was promoted as Deputy General Manager and posted at Grid Circle, Chittagong. He also worked as Project Director, Bibiana-Kaliakoir Transmission Line Project. As Supintending Engineer he also worked at Grid Circle, Chittagong &Deputy Project Director (SE), National Power Transmission Network Development Project (NPTNDP), Dhaka.
    On June 1, 2014 He was promoted as Chief Engineer and posted as Project Director, National Power Transmission Network Development Project (NPTNDP), Dhaka.

    Engr. Pranab Kumar Roy.

    Description:

    Engr. Pranab Kumar Roy was born on 1 January, 1961 in a respectable family in Brahmanbaria town. He completed his graduation in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 1983. He started his carrier as Assistant Engineer in Power Line Carrier Communication Division in Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) in the year 1984. In August 1985, he was posted as Shift Charge Engineer in the “Load Dispatch Center”. In 1986, he joined “ The Central Load Dispatch Center Project” and was engaged with M/s. Hydro Quebec Internal,Canada for the installation, testing and commissioning of micro processor based telemetering system in BPDB to facilitate on line monitoring of the national grid network in Bangladesh from the “Central Load Dispatch Center”. After completion of the project in 1989, he joined Telemetering Division of BPDB as Sub-divisional Engineer where he was responsible for the operation and maintenance of the master station of the telemetering system. In July 1995, he joined Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) in lien in the post of Load Dispatcher under System Operation Department of DEWA. For his outstanding performance, he was promoted as “System Control Engineer” very shortly. In recognition of his valuable efforts and outstanding contribution in the Voltage Conversion Work (6.6 kV to 11 kV) in DEWA, his group succeed in winning “The Distinguished Government Team” award under the “Dubai Government Excellence Program for the Year 1999”. In August 2000, he joined Telemetering Division of BPDB after completion of lien in DEWA. In March 2003, he got promotion as Manager and was posted in the Efficiency Division of Central Load Dispatch Centre under Power Grid Company of Bangladesh Ltd. (PGCB). He introduced The Monthly Power System Operation Report in PGCB that is still followed. In September 2008, he was posted as Manager in Management Information System Division (MIS) of PGCB and introduced the MIS report for the first time in PGCB that is following now. On 1 February 2012, he was promoted as Deputy General Manager and was assigned responsibility as Project Director. He successfully completed the following Projects; a) Siddhirganj-Maniknagar 230kV Transmission Line Project; b) Haripur 360MW Combined Cycle Power Plant Project (PGCB part) and c) Relocation of existing 132kV Overhead Lines by underground cable from the 335MW Combined Cycle Power Plant Project area of Electricity Generation Company of Bangladesh Ltd (EGCB) at Siddhirganj. On16 February 2015, he has been promoted as Chief Engineer and assigned the charge of system operation Department for operating the National grid network of Bangladesh. He is a member of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh. He attended training in local and abroad. Training on Operation and Maintenance of Power Transformer & Protective Relay held in Korea and Power System Communication held in Switzerland in the year 1993 were the important trainings he attended abroad. Besides training, he participated in different inspection and Factory Acceptance Test programs held in different countries like Sweden, China etc. He also attended South Asia Regional Initiatives program in Nepal & India in the year 2005 and 2009 respectively. He is married and blessed with one daughter and one son.


    Engr. Md. Ohiduzzaman

    Description:

    Engr. Md. Ohiduzzaman, a professional Electrical Engineer, graduated from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET) in 1982 and started his career in BPDB in1983. He worked as Operation & Maintenance Engineer (Asst. Engineer) of132/33 kV Substation and associated transmission lines from 1983 to 1990 in Chittagong. Then he worked as Operation & Maintenance Engineer (SDE) of 230/132/66/33 kV substation & associated transmission lines in Iswardi from1991 to 1996, and as Control & Protection Engineer (SDE) in SPM Division,Dhaka from 1997 to 2002. He promoted as Executive Engineer in BPDB and then joined in Power Grid Company of Bangladesh (PGCB) Limited as Manager in 2003 and successfully completed different projects like (1) Joybevpur-Kabirpur-Tangail132 kV T/L project, which includes the first 132 kV hybrid GIS in Bangladesh (2) Rampura-Meghnaghat 230 kV T/L project (3) Extension of 5 nos. of 132 kV Grid Substations. In the year 2012 he was promoted as Superintendent Engineer and served as Project Director of top priority Bibiyana-Comilla (N) 230 kV Transmission Line Project, and awarded from PGCB Board for successful completion of the project. In the year 2013, he was posted as Project Director of 132 kV GNDP in Eastern Region and Tetiya Kanainagar Meghna River Crossing Project, which involves the highest tower and longest span in Bangladesh. On 16thFebruary, 2015 he was promoted as Chief Engineer and Project Director of "400/230/132 kV GNDP" project.     Engr. Arun Kumar Saha born in 1960 at Shibchar in the district of Madaripur and passed the Secondary School Certificate from Nanda Kumar Institution, Shibchar, Madaripur in 1976 and Higher Secondary Examination form Dhaka College, Dhaka in 1978. He obtained Bsc.Engineering degree in Electrical andElectronics with first class from Bangladesh University of Engineering andTechnology (BUET) in1983. After passing from the University he joined Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) as Assistant Engineer in January 1984. At the beginning he was posted to Power System Planning Department where heworked for 8 years, and after that he was promoted and posted as Sub Divisional Engineer in Central Load Despatch Centre of Bangladesh Power Development Board,where he worked for 10 years. Engr. Arun Kumar Saha has been working as Superintendent Engineer, Planning, PowerGrid Company of Bangladesh (PGCB) from February 2011. As a Superintendent Engineer, Planning, he was responsible for total Bangladesh Grid Net work Planning including the new Development project planning. Before that he was working as Manager System Planning, PGCB for 8 years i.e. from 2003 to 2011. During the long period of his service career he has participated lots of training program both at home and abroad.


    Engr. Md. Masoom Alam Bokshi
    Designation : Chief Engineer & Project Director, Energy Efficiency in Grid Based Power Supply Project

    Description:

    Md. Masoom Alam Bokshi, an Electrical Engineer was born on 9 July, 1961 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He completed his graduation in Electrical & Electronic Engineering (EEE) department from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET) in 1983. He has completed M.Sc. Engineering in 1987 from the same university and in the same department.

    He joined Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) in 1984 and started his career in the Project Planning Department and worked there for about five years. Thereafter he was posted in the Central Load Dispatch Centre (CLDC) in 1989 as Shift In-charge and continued there till the end of 1994. He then left BPDB on lien for an overseas job in the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), Dubai, UAE. He worked there as Shift In-charge in the System Operation Department (SOD) for five years. After successful completion of the tenure of overseas job he returned to BPDB in 2000 and posted again in the Load Dispatch Department and continued there till the end of 2002. Thereafter he joined Power Grid Company of Bangladesh Limited (PGCB) under power sector reforms. He was promoted to Executive Engineer in January, 2003 and continued his job in PGCB as Manager in the construction of transmission line and substation projects. In September, 2006 he again joined DEWA on lien from PGCB and continued there till October, 2008. On return from DEWA he was posted in the NLDC project. He was entrusted with the responsibility of a Project Director in April, 2011 and was promoted to Deputy General Manager (DGM) on 1 February 2012. He has successfully completed the following:
    i. Transmission Efficiency Improvement through Reactive Power Compensationat Grid Substations and Reinforcement of Goalpara Substation project financed by KfW, Germany.
    ii. Goalpara-Bagerhat Transmission Line Project.

    On 23 March, 2017 he has been promoted to the post of Chief Engineer and entrusted with the responsibility of Project Director for implementation of the “Energy Efficiency in Grid Based Power Supply Project (EEGBPSP)” financed by KfW, Germany.

    He is a member of the Institution of Engineers Bangladesh. He attended different trainings and workshops at home and abroad. He is married and blessed with two descendants.


    Md. Yeakub Elahi Chowdhury

    Md. Shafiqur Rahman
    Designation : Chief Engineer & Project Director, Patuakhali (Payra)-Gopalganj 400kV Transmission Line and Gopalganj 400kV Grid Sub-Station

    Description:

    Md. Shafiqur Rahman was born & brought up in Sutrapur, Dhaka, Bangladesh. His date of birth was 11th April, 1961. He has graduated in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET) in the year 1983. He began his carrier as an Assistant Engineer on the 23rd February 1984 in Barge Mounted Power Plant, Khulna under Bangladesh Power Development Board. He worked in several Power Plants viz Rangpur 20 Mega Watt (MW) Gas Turbine Power Plant, Haripur 100MW Power Plant and Siddirganj 50MW Power Plant up to July, 1995. He got an overseas employment on Lien basis in Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) in July, 1995. He worked there up to July, 2000 as a Junior Electrical Engineer. His responsibility was to over sea the Planning & Execution of a new Project named “System Voltage Up gradation”.
    After successful completion of overseas employment he joined in Ashuganj 128MW Steam Turbine Power Plant under BPDB on July, 2000.
    In the year 2002 he resigned from BPDB and joined in Power Grid Company of Bangladesh Ltd. as a Deputy Manager and worked in Load Dispatch Division.
    He was promoted in the post of Manager in May, 2003. He worked as Manager, Project Planning in the corporate office of PGCB up to the end of February, 2012. Then he was promoted to the rank of Superintending Engineer and he joined as a Project Director of a Project named “Two New 132/33kV Substation with associated 132kV Transmission Line”. He had successfully completed this Project within the stipulated time in 2014.
    In addition to this project he was also assigned the charge of a Project Director to complete other four small scale projects. The projects were “Kodda 132kV Transmission Line”, “Replacement of 132kV overhead Transmission line by underground cable line under Metrorail project”, “Relocation of 132kV underground cable from Mirpur-10 intersection to Agargaon under Metrorail project” and “Construction of 132/33kV Kodda Grid Subststion”.

    He was promoted to the rank of Chief Engineer on 23 March 2017.

    He served as Chief Engineer, System Operation until the joining as Project Director of the project named, “Patuakhali (Payra)-Gopalganj 400kV Transmission Line and Gopalganj 400kV Substation” on May, 2017.

    He attended different Training courses such as “Project Management”, Accounting for Non Accountant” and “Transmission Line Design” etc. at home and abroad.

    He visited a number of countries such as India, Japan, Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, France, Spain and Canada for the purpose of witnessing “Factory Acceptance Test” for major Electrical Equipment and machineries.
    He is married and blessed with two sons.


    Md. Iqbal Azam

    Description:

    Engr. Md. Iqbal Azam has born in a moderate Muslim Family in 1961 in Khulna. He achieved his graduation in Electrical and Electronics Engineering with first class in 1984 from Khulna Engineering College under University of Rajshahi. He started his career in Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) as an Assistant Engineer and posted at 210MW Ghorasal Thermal Power Station Extension Project. He worked for 5 (five) years there. He served at Khulna Power Station, Grid Maintenance Division, Jhenidah as Assistant Engineer as well as Sub-Divisional Engineer. He was promoted as Manager in PGCB in 2003 and performed in Grid Maintenance Division, Jhenidah, Faridpur, Barisal and Technical Service, Dhaka. He is life fellow of Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh. He also completed Master of Business Administration (MBA) in 2008 from South East University, Dhaka. After becoming DGM (Superintending Engineer) in 2012, he was posted in Grid Circle, Dhaka and Load Despatch Center, NLDC, Dhaka where he performed for 5 (five) years well. He is serving as Chief Engineer now. During his service period he participated in different training and workshops at home and abroad and visited different countries like USA, Spain, Sweden, Japan, India, Nepal and Bhutan. He is blessed with a daughter.


    Engr. Md. Rafiqul Islam
    Designation : Chief Engineer (Addl. Charge), Transmission-1

    Description:

    Engr. Md. Rafiqul Islam, a Mechanical Engineer, graduated from Rajshahi Engineering College (Presently RUET) under Rajshahi University in 1983 and started his career in BPDB in 1984. He worked as Project Engineer (Asst. Engineer) from 1984 to 1994 in BBTL (Bheramara-Barisal Transmission Line), IST(Ishardi-Saidpur-Thakurgaon), Seven Transmission Line Project and Construction Division Bogra (for capacitor bank project) etc. Then he worked as operation and maintenance engineer (as Sub Divisional Engineer) of 230/132/66/33 kV Grid Substation & associated transmission lines. In 1st January, 2003 he joined in Power Grid Company of Bangladesh (PGCB) Limited as Deputy Manager. In August, 2003 he promoted as Manager and joined in System Protection and Metering Division, Ishardi. He worked there upto 2012 and completed Testin Commissioning of several 230/132 kV Grid Substations and Power Plants. He successfully did the maintenance of protection equipments, Testing of Enery Meters and Trouble Shootings in Grid Substations and Power Plants of that region. In the year of 2012 he was given charge of Superintending Engineer and in 2013 he promoted as Superintending Engineer and started heading Communication Circle. He upgraded and rearranged PGCB Communication and SCADA System to meet the future challenges of Bangladesh Power System related to NLDC. In the year of 2017, he was posted as Deputy Project Director (DPD) of 400/230/132 kV GNDP. He joined in Grid Circle Dhaka North as Superintending Engineer and got the charge of Transmission-1 as Chief Engineer in 17th March, 2018. He has attended different courses and trainings at abroad e.g. Telecommunication System, HVDC, Protection & Sub-station Automation in Switzerland, Sweden, Germany and India. He has also attended different courses and trainings at home e.g. Basic Course on Project Management, Advance Course on Project Management, Finance Management and Audit Requirement, Environment Safeguards and Management, Ciber Security and Business English. He is a fellow of Institute of Engineers Bangladesh. He is one of the few PGCB engineers who has worked in all the major work area such as Project, Grid Maintenance, System Protection, Communication and Management. Currently He is also Management Representative (MR) of PGCB.

He was born on 31st October, 1962 in a respectable Muslim family at Hogla village,Upazila-Barisal Sadar under Barisal district. He completed his B.Com(Honours) & M.Com in Accounting from University of Dhaka in the year 1983.He also completed Cost & management Accountancy(CMA) in the year 1995 from The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) and became a fellow member of the Institute and obtain FCMA in the year 2001.He started his carrier in the year 1987 as a Programme Organizer in BRAC. Then he joined Rural Electrification Board(REB) in the year 1988 and then after he joined in Rangpur Palli Bidyut Samity as an Assistant General Manager (AGM) Finance in the year 1994.After performing his duties he farther joined as an Assistant General Manager (AGM) Finance in the year 1996 in Shirajgong Palli Bidyut Samity . Mr.Chowdhury served TSP Complex Ltd(A company of BCIC) a state own Company,as an Assistant Chief Accountant (ACA) from August 1997 to October 1999. In end 1999 he joined in Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) and proved himself as a Professional accountant by holding different positions in the Directorate of Finance & also Directorate of Accounts namely Deputy Director(Finance) and Deputy Director (Accounts) up to October,2005. After that Mr.Chowdhury Joined Power Grid Company of Bangladesh Ltd(PGCB) on 6th October 2005 in the position of Manager Audit. He hold Deputy General Manager(DGM) in charge in the year 2007. Now he has been Working as Deputy General Manager(DGM) Audit from 6th October 2008 to till to date.He attended a wide range of Training and workshop at home and abroad. He visited a number of countries such as China, Korea & India . He is married and blessed with a son & a daughter.

    Mr. Md. Ashraf Hossain has been serving the Power Grid Company of Bangladesh Ltd. as Company Secretary since 12 August 2008. He has born in a moderate muslim family in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He has achieved his BSS (Honours) & MSS in Public Administration from University of Dhaka and Post Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management from Bangladesh Management Development Center, Dhaka. He also achieved Banking Diploma , part one, from BIBM, Dhaka. He participated in a research program on Problem of Program Implementation in Thana Administration. He participated in different trainings like, Management Programe Finance for Non-Finance Executives, Corporate Human Resource Management etc. Mr. Hossain served Pubali Bank, a state own commercial bank, as Senior Official from May 1983 to December 1985. In end 1985 he joined in Co-operatives Jute Mills Ltd, a composite jute mills, as Company Secretary and served up to November 1992. He served in R.M Group of Industries in various capacities like Manager (Marketing & Administration), Senior Manger (Projects & Foreign Purchase) and Assistant General Manager, i.e., head of corporate office from November 1992 to August 2008. He was involve in negotiating industrial project purchase, making contract and implementation there off. For business purpose he visited India, Korea, China, Turkey, Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong etc. He used to write articles on commercial & industrial events & fiscal policy matters in national reputed dailies. He is blessed by one son and two daughters.
